The 2025 season will be packed with activity in the Americas. The highlight might be the Continental Cup, which will be held in Uruguay in July and serves as a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup. However, there's plenty more to see and enjoy across these lands.
Junior tournaments have proven essential for athlete development. All the stars began by shining in youth competitions. That's why creating spaces for new athletes to reach their full potential remains a key part of PAHF's mission. In 2025, the Junior Pan American Challenge will take place for both women and men, alongside one of the most important events in the category: the Pan American Games for Under-21 athletes. This will be held in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 10 to 19. Additionally, the South American Under-18 Games will also be contested.
Hockey 5 tournaments will continue to grow the sport in regions with fewer resources, particularly in Central American countries.
The main focus will likely be in July when the best Pan American teams arrive in Montevideo on July 24 to compete for the single direct spot allocated at the continental level for the 2026 World Cup. Both men’s and women’s teams will vie for gold and the coveted ticket. Argentina, the most successful team in this competition for both men and women, is the favorite, closely followed by the United States and Chile, who have achieved great results recently.
Beyond the matches between American nations, the continent's teams will also participate in international events.
The year will begin with Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago (men), and the United States (women) competing in the Indoor World Cup in Croatia from February 3 to 9.
With the inaugural edition of the Nations Cup 2 in Oman from February 17 to 23, Los Diablos and the Americans will aim to take another step on the global stage. The women’s edition will be held in June in Poland, where Las Cimarronas will compete.
Starting February 23, the women’s national teams of Chile, Canada, and the United States will play in the Nations Cup, with Santiago hosting the event, giving Las Diablas the chance to compete with the support of their home crowd.
The Pro League will also kick off, featuring American representation: Las Leonas and Los Leones will continue their quest for the title against top-tier opponents.
The 2025 season promises to be an exciting year for Pan American teams. Let the games begin!
