Today’s lineup promises to be just as exciting, with four matches on the fixture. With the sun shining brightly and the weather at its finest, it's the perfect day for some high-quality sport. The pitch is in pristine condition, ready for the athletes to showcase their skills. All the ingredients are in place for another memorable day here at the Pan Am Challenge, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store! Let the games begin!

Puerto Rico VS Guyana  3 – 0 (WOMENS)

In the first game of Day 4, Puerto Rico lived up to expectations with a 3-0 win over Guyana, but it was far from an easy victory. Guyana, despite being the underdogs, showed incredible resilience, especially in defense. Puerto Rico, the tournament favorites, applied relentless pressure throughout the match, but it was Guyana's goalkeeper, Abby Escudero, and her defense that kept the game in the balance for much of the time. Escudero, in particular, was outstanding, making a series of remarkable saves and leading her team in defending 14 short corners — a feat that’s nothing short of incredible. However, despite their best efforts, the pressure eventually took its toll. The first goal came in the 30th minute when Anna Kosek managed to slip one past Escudero, who had been doing everything she could to keep Guyana in the game. Guyana’s defense, while resolute, couldn't keep up with Puerto Rico’s quick pace. In the 43rd minute, Teressa Reed scored, followed by Kosek’s second goal just a minute later, effectively sealing the win for Puerto Rico.

Though Guyana continued to fight hard and defend with all their might, they could not manage to score a consolation goal. Escudero and her defense gave everything, but ultimately, Puerto Rico’s offensive pressure proved too much, and they emerged with a well-earned 3-0 victory.

Mexico VS Guatemala  17 – 0 (WOMENS)

In a lopsided matchup, Mexico demolished Guatemala 17-0 in a game that showcased their dominance from start to finish. The Mexican side put on a clinic, executing flawless tactics and overwhelming their opponents at every turn. Ximena Noria was the standout player, scoring five field goals, with her first coming in the 8th minute, setting the tone for what would be a dominant performance. Valeria Espinoza was also exceptional, contributing four goals to the total.

Further goals came from Maria Mares, Fernanda Guzman (who scored twice), Estefania Camacho, Brenda Moreno, Maria Rodriguez, Samantha Lopez, and Nancy Castillo, completing the impressive 17-goal tally. It was a complete team effort that left Guatemala struggling to keep up.

For Guatemala, it was a tough day at the office. However, their young and inexperienced squad can take valuable lessons from this tournament. Despite the heavy defeat, they should hold their heads high and continue to play with pride for their country. With more experience, they have the potential to improve and grow in future competitions.

Guyana VS Venezuela  0 – 1 (MENS)

In a thrilling and highly competitive match, Venezuela narrowly defeated Guyana 1-0 in a game that had everything—skill, fitness, resilience, and teamwork. Both teams came into the matchup with everything to play for, knowing that a win would bring them one step closer to the top spots in the tournament.

Guyana started strong, dominating the first quarter with sharp play and strong defensive stands. However, Venezuela adjusted their strategy in the second quarter, becoming more aggressive in attack and pushing for opportunities. The game was filled with moments of excitement, with the crowd reacting to several near-misses and unforced errors from Venezuela that kept the match in suspense.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute, when Venezuela’s Yonmaikel Oviedo scored an open field goal, sending the ball past Guyana’s defense and goalkeeper to give Venezuela the lead. That goal would prove to be the difference maker, as Guyana, despite continuing to fight with determination, was unable to find the equalizer.

Venezuela’s resilience throughout the tournament has been impressive, and this victory marked their second consecutive win over a similarly skilled and fit opponent, having previously edged out Barbados. As the tournament progresses, Venezuela looks to continue their strong campaign and secure one of the coveted top spots.

Trinidad and Tobago VS Barbados  2 – 1 (WOMENS)

In a tightly contested match, Trinidad narrowly defeated Barbados 2-1, with both teams showing moments of brilliance and determination. Barbados entered the game with a strategy centered around getting the ball to their star player, Steere De Koning. However, this approach proved unsustainable as De Koning often had to bring the ball from defense to attack on her own, limiting her ability to create consistent offensive pressure.

Despite this, Barbados showed flashes of skill and looked threatening whenever they moved the ball around effectively. When they passed the ball well and played as a team, they created some promising chances, keeping Trinidad on alert. However, it was Trinidad that looked like the more solid team overall. Their passing game was sharper, and they demonstrated individual skill that allowed them to break through Barbados' defense at times with ease.

Trinidad took control early, with goals from Natania Rowe in the 13th minute and Robyn Dash in the 20th minute giving them a 2-0 lead. Barbados responded in the 36th minute with a goal from De Koning, offering hope to the Bajans. However, despite their efforts, they were unable to find another goal to level the game, allowing Trinidad to hold on for the 2-1 win. Despite the loss, Barbados proved that when they played the ball around well, they were certainly a team to be reckoned with.
